OSLO CLASSICS
The festival is a sanctuary for music lovers. It offers a genuine, culturally rich, and transformative experience. Oslo Classics recently underwent a significant evolution, with Sylte Studios contributing to its renewal. As a creative practice at the intersection of culture and visual arts, we were honored to be entrusted with enhancing the festival's brand presence.
Our involvement touched various aspects of the festival's identity. We guided the brand evolution, which included a thoughtful visual identity refresh. This encompassed updating the logo and refining the typography, aiming for a cohesive aesthetic that resonates with the festival's essence.
In the digital sphere, we developed a new website to serve as a virtual gateway to the Oslo Classics experience. Our team also curated festival artwork, crafted copy, and designed posters that capture the event's spirit. Recognizing the importance of online engagement, we managed content production and social media publishing, creating a consistent narrative across platforms. Our photography services further enriched the visual storytelling, capturing the festival's ambiance in compelling images.
The typographic choices were deliberate and meaningful. We selected Cardinal Photo from Production Type and Neue Haas Grotesk from Linotype, two typefaces that balance tradition and modernity. Neue Haas Grotesk guides users through the realms of music and artistic performance with its precise style. Cardinal Photo, with its dramatic contrast, nods to the festival's classical roots while firmly positioning it in the present day.
We built the festival's new website on the Squarespace platform, enhanced with custom code and bespoke design fonts. Our aim was to create a user-friendly, modern digital space that simplifies navigation and information access. The festival artwork and posters were designed to build anticipation for the event.
Throughout the process, we maintained a careful balance. Each design choice and piece of content was thoughtfully curated to reflect Oslo Classics' unique position and showcase the talented artists. The result is an authentic brand experience that honors the festival's musical heritage while embracing contemporary design sensibilities.
