The studio opened in 2018 with two rooms: a photography production space, and a creative studio for strategy, direction, and design. The rooms exist because design, digital, and photography have always overlapped in the work.

Alexander Sylte has worked in the industry since 1999, in roles from creative producer and art director through creative director, editor in chief, and head of digital. Websites and custom CMS builds have been part of that since 2002, and photography since the nineties. Art direction and creative direction at the studio are built on all three.

The work is made for fashion, culture, and design-led brands where the visual standard is part of the product. Typically clients with lean teams, strong instincts, and more output than capacity, who want every touchpoint to hold the same standard.

Sylte Studios is often brought in when output is strong but inconsistent. The work is good, but it changes shape between campaigns, channels, and the people making it. The studio sets a clear standard, then builds the systems that hold it.

The studio is deliberately small. Alexander Sylte leads every engagement and takes on a limited number each year, so direction, editing, and delivery stay in the same hands. When scope calls for more, a trusted network of specialists across Europe joins the work, with one senior lead throughout.

The process is structured and practical. Scope is defined before work starts, decisions are documented as they are made, and the work is handed over as something a team can run without the studio in the room.

Engagements run as projects, on retainer, or embedded inside a client's team, as brand director or e-commerce lead on contract.
